Threads: Does "The End of F***ing World" Tell About Phenomenons That We Need to Be More Aware of?

Adapted from the comic book, "The End of F***ing World" has become the hit Netflix show in 2018. If you're not familiar with this show yet, it's about two mischievous teens, Alyssa and James, who escaped from their home. What differs this show from another teen tv shows? This Netflix series put some tragedies and agendas that occur all around us especially, in this millennial generations.

Here are the things you need to know from "The End of F***ing World" that exists all around you but, you're not aware of it yet:

1)  People Who Self-Diagnosed

There are some people who tries to self-diagnose without the experts, just like James when he thought that he was a psychopath.

2) Typical Ladies' Issue

Something that's pretty taboo to be talked about: menstruation. Some girls still hide their pads and sneak to the toilet when they find out that they're currently on the period. It's shown pretty explicit when Alyssa feels like something is going on and she touches her panties. B L O O D. But, it's not disturbing when you're watching it

3) Different Types of Sexual Orientations

Not everyone is straight, right? There are people who's also asexual and gay in this show. Even previously there were people who had different sexual orientations but, people started to take it more seriously in this generations

4) Being The Unwanted Kid

Let's just be honest! Alyssa's step-father, Tony, is an actual villain in this show. We know that Alyssa isn't his biological daughter but, she's still his daughter because, he gets married with her mother.

5) Breaking The Stereotypes

People claim that the man is always the one who protects. NO. Alyssa and James can protect each other. Also, girls can also be a rebel too, just like our girl, Alyssa.

6) More Realistic and Complex Personality

There are a bunch of people with the unusual personality. Alyssa is the sarcastic yet confusing girl who can say 'A' but, later, 'B and vice versa whilst James is more quiet and glum because, he tries to figure out what's going on with him like, why can't he feel things before he meets Alyssa?

7) Lack of Sexual Consents

Before Alyssa and James broke into the stranger's house, she found out that a pedophile man had molested James. She threatened him to give all of his wallet if he didn't wanna be exposed. After they entered the house, they found out that the owner of the house was a rapist and he had assaulted plenty women. When he found out that Alyssa was breaking into his house, she tried to abuse her but later, James eventually murdered him with a knife.

Also, when Topher was invited to the house and Alyssa encouraged him to have sex with her but, she said 'no' afterwards. He begged but, still, she said 'no'. They stopped but, he later insulted her.

8) Horrible Parents

We totally can't blame Alyssa for being a rebel because, she's sometimes forced to figure things out herself (but, that doesn't mean her action is right). Her mom can't say or do much when Toni insults Alyssa or when her biological father totally leave her. Regardless of the bitter-sweet family story, her actual parents still care about her.

Besides, poor James' dad when he was punched by his own son! You all gotta admit that he's actually a great father because, he always tries to entertain his son with the weird dad-jokes and still defends his son.
